Context
As part of a project to renovate and extend the former Val-de-Grâce Hospital in Paris, CIDECO was commissioned to carry out a diagnosis of the reinforced concrete structures and secondary works of the building.
Operations
- Survey of pathologies affecting the structural elements
- Inspection of façades and roofing conditions
- Identification of roof waterproofing system composition
- Verification of compliance of staircases and guardrails
- Assessment of interior joinery and partition systems
- Characterization of reinforced concrete using GPR, rebound hammer, and localized destructive testing
- Core sampling for compressive strength and carbonation depth testing
- Metal sampling for tensile strength analysis
- Determination of foundation geometry
- Calculation of the load-bearing capacity of horizontal and vertical members
- Assessment of fire resistance
- Recommendations for structural rehabilitation works
