Demolition of the Alfortville Towers – Securing the Façades of Lycée Maximilien Perret

On October 27, 2024, three residential towers in the Chantereine district of Alfortville were demolished by explosives, a spectacular operation that required meticulous anticipation of the risks to nearby buildings.

The main objective was to ensure the safety and structural integrity of the façades of Lycée Maximilien Perret, located adjacent to the demolition site.

Commissioned by the Île-de-France Region, CIDECO conducted a detailed impact study to evaluate the effects of the demolition on the school buildings.

Our analyses identified sensitive zones, calculated pressure loads on the façades, and defined appropriate protective measures, taking into account blast wave pressure, glass resistance, and potential debris projection.

Thanks to its expertise in structural diagnostics and building protection, CIDECO is able to intervene in complex urban demolition contexts, where each project presents unique challenges requiring precise impact assessment and customized protective solutions.

For this operation, tailored safety measures were implemented to guarantee the integrity and stability of the school façades, ensuring effective protection against the risks associated with the demolition in a dense urban environment.
